all the recent hoopla regarding mawi is so strange that a previously nonchalant bystander like myself can't fight the urge to put my two cents worth....
i guess that's what will happen when u put too much expectation on someone who doesn't deserve it in the first place....i'm not trying to discredit mawi, but to idolize him and to treat him like he is some sort of savior is unfair for both mawi and yourself.....as a muslim i think we only need to idolize one person, prophet muhammad s.a.w......unlike the holy prophet, mawi is just like the rest of us, dia tak sempurna, tak maksum, he's prone to commiting mistakes as well......so please guys, it's ok if u like his voice or his performance,i have nothing against your musical taste, but to put him on a pedestal and proclaim that he is the best icon for our youngsters to emulate, then u are playing a very risky game......
