alhamdulillah,semuanya dah selesai...
yesterday's occasion marks a new chapter in my life....i'm now officially somebody's fiancee......
yesterday began quite humbly i must say....if not for the presence of the canopy outside my house,no one would have thought an important event is going to commence in just a few hours.....
but the pace started to pick up from then.....my mom went to the market to buy some fresh fruits for one of gubahan, and when she came back she continued the dressings for the sirih junjung.....
at around 11.30 the caterer came....the menu for the day was daging masak lemak cili api,ayam masak kicap,sayur campur,ikan masin,ulam and sambal belacan....they all look delicious, but since at that time my nervousness started to kick in, i don't have the apettite to eat whole-heartedly.
people started coming to my house at around 12 pm. I waited until after zohor to put on my dress and makeup. once i stepped out of my room everybody looked at me like i'm some kind of alien life-form who just descended to planet earth hehehee.......i guess everybody was just amazed to see my transformation from t-shirt and track bottom wearing girl who look like an ah-lian from jinjang to somebody a lil' bit more, errr...shall i say, glamorous? hahahahaha i wish!
the moment everybody's been waiting for finally arrived at 2.30 pm....there were around 30+ relatives of abang that day.....all the while the discussion was in progress i was sitting in my room so i can't quite figure out what they were saying. there was a time however when i heard somebody asked what's the adat or norm in my area for an occasion like this, and i heard my father replied"kl mana ada adat!" which triggered laughter from everybody in the house!
to close the ceremony i was summoned to the hall for the sarung cincin ceremony....followed by the doa recital......
i was still in a state of disbelief a few hours after that...it was quite hard for me initially to digest the fact that i am now enggaged.....but now i feel so blessed,2005 indeed has been a very good year for me.......
