i hate it when i'm forced to eat veggies as a kid. i just hate the way they taste(less). however since i got older and (hopefully) wiser, after being bombarded every day with infos relating to their health benefit, not forgetting constant nagging from family and friends, i'm more willing to try and sometimes coerced myself to consume them. and voila, i actually have develop a taste for some of them, such as cauliflower, carrots, and ulam-ulam such as daun selom, pucuk ubi, and ulam raja, cicah pulak dgn sambal belacan, phewww, best ! although i've not turned vegetarian, i've accepted vegetables in my diet, i've become tolerant to them.
the way i see it, that's the thing with tolerance.
in order to develop a tolerance towards something, first you have to confront it, learn it's attributes, before you can make up your mind to accept it.
tolerance should transcend the mere act of acknowledging the existence of something, and later consciously or subconsciously, choose to treat it with indifference or apathy.
not unlike the inter-racial, inter-faith, relationship in this country, in fact, in the whole world.
