i think i'm gonna do a Rob* today....so here it is, my top 5 songs with the name of actual place in its title.....
- london calling by the clash - first heard on the movie billy elliot. excellent movie, excellent soundtrack, excellent example of using of a song to accompany a scene..... in this case, a classic punk anthem to accompany a riot scene....how apt is that?
- if you're going to san francisco by neil young - it was in the soundtrack of forrest gump. in the movie it was playing for only 5 seconds or so, but the chorus was so haunting i can't get it out of my head for the whole day....
- philadelphia by bruce springsteen - another song from the movie, this time it's philadelphia starring tom hanks...i remember then i was thinking of wanting a boyfriend who has a a voice like the boss, hehehe....
- california dreamin' by the mamas and papas - can't remember when i first listened to it....i thinks it's included in forrest gump's soundtrack as well.....
- hotel california by the eagles - how can u not include this song? it has been in the airwaves for such a long time i can't remember when i first heard it....
in case u r wondering, "doing a Rob" is the act of following what the character Rob Fleming, from nick hornby's high fidelity, always do...that is creating a list of top 5 or top 10 for anything.....the term was actually created by the ever narcisist me hahaha.....
