i've finally watched brokeback mountain...
the highlight of this movie is the heart wrenching perfomances by both heath ledger and michelle williams....especially heath, his potrayal as ennis del mar is bound to make you sympathise with his misery....
however i can't help noticing the lack of chemistry between him and jack gylenhaal....they are not that believable as lovers.....which is a shame since gylenhaal performed considerably well in his role.... i'm not saying that in order to make it more believable the movie must include more love scenes, manifestation of love should surpass physical contact...it's just that the chemistry between the two was just not there.....the same thing occured with our very own puteri gunung ledang.....
so is this a good movie?
yeah, i think it is, although i do think that it is sometimes being overrated.....those gay and lesbian groups sure are good at PR.....
do i like this movie?
yes, and no...because this movie is not easy to watch...i had the same feeling watching boys don't cry, i was captivated by the storytelling and the performance of the actors, but at the same time i felt so sad and angry with what i saw....in this case, it is just hard for me to look at heath's expression of the character......
and you guys, just because i watch brokeback mountain and liked it doesn't mean that i condone homosexuality okay? yg haram tetap haram.... contrary to what was usually written about this movie, it is not a gay-cowboy love story, it's a love story....and this type of love so tragic where the relationship has to undergo multitutes of hindrance could happen to anybody, gay or straight......
